Love’s Light (2)

The Father of lights, the Mighty God and Everlasting Father is identified by the prophet Isaiah as the child Jesus (see – Isaiah 9:6). There is a strong argument to suggest that the birth of Jesus took place during the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles. This would mean that the conception of Jesus occurred during the Jewish Festival of Lights the previous year.

Medical science has recently suggested that a flash of light within the womb accompanies the moment of conception. Some believe this to be the infusion of eternal spirit in to newly created human life. The prophet Zechariah confirms that – “The Lord … formed the spirit within humans.” (Zechariah 12:1 – NLT). That light and life are closely linked is clear from the words of John – “Life itself was in him (Jesus), and this life gives light to everyone.” (John 1:4 – NLT).

Love’s Song

That our Father in heaven loves to hear his children on earth singing to him is without doubt – we cannot read the Bible without coming to such a conclusion. Heaven itself is also a place of incredible singing and music – “In a great chorus they (the mighty seraphim) sang…. The glorious singing shook the temple to its foundations….” (Isaiah 6: 2 – 3 – NLT). In his vision of heaven John – “Heard the singing of thousands and millions of angels….” (Revelation 5:12 – NLT).

But the Old Testament writer Zephaniah declares of God –  “He will rejoice over you with great gladness. With his love, he will clam all your fears. He will exult over you by singing a happy song.”  The truth is our Father, as a doting mother, sings love songs over his children.
